🏚️ “Car Wali Kothi” — Jalandhar’s Forgotten Crown Jewel 💔🚗

Once a landmark that made every passerby stop and stare, today it stands still… waiting for just one loving glance from the very city it helped shape.

This isn’t just a building.
It’s a memory frozen in brick, concrete, and time.
Locals knew it as “Car Wali Kothi” — a home that wore a Chevrolet on its rooftop, proudly beaming headlights into the night sky from its terrace, like a symbol of ambition, identity, and unmatched creativity.

Built in the 1930s by trendsetter Rulia Ram Kapoor, this iconic structure near Domoria ROB wasn’t just unique — it was visionary.
Before selfies, before influencers — this house was the influencer.

Every NRI visiting Jalandhar had it on their list. Kids would drag their parents just for one glimpse. It wasn’t just a house…
…it was our own little piece of magic.

Inside?
A three-sided open home, a flowing stream above a Shiva idol, cool basements, majestic bedrooms… a world that echoed pride and personal story.

But after Kapoor sahab’s passing, time began to fade the shine.
His son moved to Bombay, chasing celluloid dreams in films like Dharma, Kabhi Kabhi, and Dhund.
Since then, the house changed hands like an old painting nobody knew how to restore.

Today, only parts of the “car” remain.
Wheels rusted, roof cracked, charm weathered.
No tourists. No storytellers.
Just silence.

Maybe it’s too late for a revival.
Maybe not.
But one thing’s certain — Jalandhar never had another Car Wali Kothi. And never will.

🛑 Some buildings are just buildings.
This one was our city’s heartbeat.

🕰️ “वक्त तो बदल गया… पर यादें वहीं की वहीं हैं!” 💭✨

एक तस्वीर, एक शहर, हजारों किस्से…

ये जालंधर की गलियाँ थीं — जहां !
